To tailor the game for a young child, hide the traybar, toolbar and status bar and set "Initial trays" to zero. This leaves the playing area uncluttered.
When dropping pieces or chunks into trays, the pieces will always fall into whichever tray is DIRECTLY UNDER the grabbing hand cursor.
You can add your own MIDI song files to the play list using the Options / Advanced menu. Use preview to listen to any MIDI file directly.
If you don't like the tune that's currently playing, turn the music off and then on again to skip to the next tune.
Don't forget the toolbar and traybar are "dockable". You can drag either or both to the sides to create room for tall, thin jigsaws.
Running out of disk space for your saved games? Saved puzzles can be deleted using the File / Delete menu.
You can automatically create as many trays as you like when opening a new jigsaw, using the Options / Advanced / Misc / 'Initial trays' feature.
Pieces can be rotated directly by the right mouse button. See the Options / Advanced / Mouse / 'Click right' feature.
To move all the pieces from one tray to another, "Select all pieces" in the first tray and drag them all to the second tray. This will include chunks, too.
The color of a tray can be changed by right clicking on an empty part of a tray.
You can change the color for all new trays created using the Options / Advanced / Colors / 'Tray color' feature.
The quickest way to open your previous jigsaw is to use the File menu which shows the last five jigsaws (or images) opened.
Here's a fun way to cheat: hold down the shift key and start left clicking on piece edges to join them together in quick succession.
Board too crowded? Try reducing the piece size or create some trays for more workspace.
If you want to arrange all the loose pieces, including those that you've already moved, use the Tools / Disarrange feature first. This works for dropped pieces, too.
Want an extra challenge? Try turning on the time limit using the Tools / Time Limit feature.
When you solve a puzzle, the picture is displayed ('Zoomed') on a black background. You can disable this using the Options / Advanced / Misc menu.
If a tray has any pieces in it, its icon is displayed in color. If the tray is empty, the icon is displayed in gray.
You can enter a short description for a tray, up to 128 characters. The description appears in the tray title bar and whenever the mouse cursor is over the tray's icon.
Stuck on your puzzle and need a hint? Press Ctrl+F1 to get a hint. This cheat flashes the two likely pieces you'd want to join together.
Want to quickly inspect some fine detail in the jigsaw? Display the overlay picture and then maximize it by double clicking on its title bar.
Got some annoying 'twinkling holes' in your version 1.x jigsaw? Resizing the pieces should remove them. You don't need to select a different value, by the way.
When choosing a new color for a tray or the background, you can create any new color you like by pressing the 'Define Custom Colors' button. Up to 16 new colors will be saved.
If you ever manage to lose a chunk "off screen" (by unlocking the only visible pieces of a chunk parked mostly offscreen), simply resize (or maximize) the main window to retrieve it.
When printing a jigsaw, remember you can hide the tool bar, status bar and tray bar using the View menu, if you don't want them in the printout. Also, set the background color to white to save ink.
